Manganese is present in very small quantities in the body as a trace mineral. The full twenty milligrams of it will be concentrated in your pancreas, liver, kidneys and bones. It serves several functions in the body where it works mainly as a coenzyme, facilitating several metabolic processes.

As a micronutrient, manganese activates enzymes for the synthesis of fatty acids. Enzymes responsible for RNA and DNA production are also activated by Manganese. It is closely associated with zinc and copper and it participates in the photosynthetic manufacturing of oxygen from H20.

Excessive Manganese can be toxic. The ceiling value of exposure to manganese fumes and dusts of five mg/ m 3 should not be exceeded. Manganese is a Parkinson's disease type disorder that results in neurodegeneration. However, this is not common, as our diets are naturally deficient. Therefore, it is important to take manganese supplements that are more bioavailable. Minerals in liquid ionic form absorb up to 80% better than those in pill form.
